Tyburn Convent - London

  • Description:

    • In the center of London, prayer is the primary work of the 25 Catholic nuns of Tyburn Convent, and they ensure there is always one nun praying before the cross. The nuns live by the ancient monastic Rule of St Benedict. Tyburn Convent houses the shrine of the English Reformation Martyrs of Tyburn who died for their faith during the Reformation. Throughout the day,the convent hosts three guided tours, not for the fainthearted: the convent has a model of the Tyburn gallows, a terrifying crypt, and remnants of fingernails, splinters of bone and hair, and skin of hanged Catholic martyrs. - Caroline Collard
