Description:

  • Upnor Castle was built in 1559 during the days of Queen Elizabeth I, as an artillery fort to protect the warships that anchored in the River Medway. Located in Rochester in the county of Kent, it is presently managed by the Medway Council. The North and South Towers are the main blocks of the white castle, that also has a landward gatehouse and a moat, which are open for public viewing. Visit website for more details.
