Description:
- With 156,000 square feet of exhibition space featuring over 12 thousand specimens, the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach is the largest aquarium here in the Los Angeles area. Displays here include a Northern Pacific Gallery, a Southern California/Baja Gallery, a Tropical Pacific Gallery, the Shark Lagoon and the Lorikeet Forest (and more!). A lot of attention is taken to create exhibits that draw in and educate kids with hands-on interaction.
The Aquarium of the Pacific is located near the Southern end of 710 freeway and is walking distance from the Blue Line subway. The building is recognizable thanks to the wave-shaped roof. Nearby are a lot of things to do as well, such as the Rainbow Harbor and Marina, the Queen Mary and the Shoreline Aquatic Park. - © NileGuide2012
