Description:
- The Scene
Although it's practically underneath a freeway overpass, this small pub is charming and exuberant inside. The rustic wooden walls are illuminated by Christmas lights, and a long bar boasts several imports on tap. Among the requisite pool table and Golden Tee is an astoundingly clean and refined dining area, with linen-covered tables and red vinyl booths. The crowd is cheerful, clean-cut and a refreshingly diverse mix of men and women, young and old, yuppie and scruffy. The soundtrack is more Bowie and Brit-pop than Skynyrd and Freedom Rock.
The Draw
The obvious Irish theme extends to more than just the flag on the wall. European beers here are $4 a pint--an extra buck for Guinness--and the full service menu is authentic Euro pub grub. Skip the burgers and try bangers and mash, shepherd's pie or fish-and-chips to get the full experience.
