- Located in Eagle Rock, L.A.'s new "it" neighborhood, Mia Sushi is a quiet retreat for a good meal. Their sushi chef recreates classic Japanese with California flavors, like Miso Soup with Cilantro. The Tuna Tartare, one of the best dishes, is served in cubes and placed on cucumber slices finished off with with sesame oil. Or try one of Mia's specialty rolls. The beauty, perhaps even the genius, of Mia is its patio seating covered in bamboo and its tranquil waterfall, which makes you forget the hustle of L.A. driving taking place right in front of you. Mia's interior, decorated with giant Buddhas, is intimate and cozy. The patio, on the other hand, is excellent for a larger parties. Mia draws in an eclectic crowd, from professionals to locals, from couples to hipsters. The staff is friendly and attentive, always the sign of a great establishment.
