Description:
- This is a really fun hike up a creek to a monumental and seemingly misplaced bridge. The idea is simple enough. . . you walk up to the creek about 5 miles until you reach the bridge. The reality is a little more confusing as the trail can sometimes be hard to make out. Heading upstream, you are mostly on the right side of the creek, although you do have to cross over to the left side at least once. It ends up being a somewhat challenging hike. Be sure to be on the trail as get closer to the bridge. . . the canyon widens and goes northwest while the trail the ascends up the right side of the canyon to follow an old road. Past the bridge is the Narrows, a narrower and rocky part of the canyon, sometimes full of gold miners.
Remember that to park inside the National Forest you will need to have a (widely available) Adventure Pass clearly visible in your car.
