Description:
- This little-known tour is a really great way to learn all about television production. Unlike many other Hollywood tours, it is completely free of charge. The KCET studios were the former home of both Monogram Pictures and Allied Artists, two studios that produced many films over the years. Stars like Elvis Presley, Audrey Hepburn and Bela Lugosi worked here. Nowadays, KCET is home to the Los Angeles PBS Station (channel 28) and the studio produces many fine programs of its own. The studio produced the Carl Sagan series "Cosmos" and "Meeting of the Minds" with Steve Allen, among many other programs. The tour often teaches visitors about the technical side of television production. Tours last 90 minutes. Children under 12 are not permitted. Call two weeks in advance for a reservation.
