Santa Monica Pier Aquarium

• This marine science learning center is dedicated to educating the public about the Santa Monica Bay. To accomplish this, the center features an aquarium as well as a number of exhibits. Most of the exhibits are geared towards teaching the basic ideas behind marine environmental studies, marine biology and oceanography. In addition to education, however, the center is also dedicated to conservation. Among the special events sponsored by the center are tide-pooling, whale-watching trips, excursions to Catalina Island and much more.
