Torrey Pines Trail - Los Angeles

  • Description:

    • The trail to Torrey Pines begins at the landing area in Bechers Bay on Santa Rosa Island. Transportation to this island includes a four-hour boat ride or a 20-minute plane ride. Follow the main trail passed the landing strip and the trail that leads to the campground. A loop trail leads around the stand of Torrey Pines on the island. The lower, left, side of the loop leads along the sea cliffs and provides sweeping views of the shoreline. The upper, right, side of the loop leads above the stand of Torrey pines and provides views of the eastern coast of the island. The length of the trail from the landing area to the end of the loop around the Torrey pines is two and a half miles. Visitors who wish to continue hiking can walk two and a half more miles to East Point. The point is closed to protect the nesting areas of the snowy plover from early March through mid-September.
