What better than Disneyland and Universal Studios in LA for thrilling and fun rides!!
Plus there's six flags with it's amazing roller coasters. Visit http://www.sixflags.com/magicMountain/index.aspx

All four offer complete (if not more) value for money.
Other than these, i know that the San Diego zoo is worshiped by people worldwide. You may want to check it out.
