Last call in Louisville is at 4 AM, which gives you plenty of time to catch a show, then visit a few of our bars. Or you could just stay at one place until 4 AM.
21c's Proof on Main makes all the top lists, and it's our first choice for a unique night out in Louisville. Grab a spot at the bar next to the satyr offering a golden apple and peruse the leather-bound flip-book menu. Try a gin and tonic - Proof makes the tonic in house - or one of their other creations. If you're visiting this stop on the Urban Bourbon Trail, consider sampling different bourbons via a flight. On the opposite end of classy spectrum is the Back Door, located in a shopping mall in the Highlands. From the regulars' faces painted on the walls to the $2.75 specials, we love this place. Should you crave a change of scenery, it's within walking distance of several other bars, including Holy Grale, a cozy new gastropub with a church-y theme.
If you're looking for entertainment beyond people-watching and sampling new drinks, check out the drag show and dance floor at the Connection, or see what's on at the Louisville Palace or the Late Seating at Actor's Theater (or regular seating, too). If you're in town on the first Friday of the month, head to Market or Main Streets to catch the trolley for the First Friday Trolley Hop and visit the different galleries and businesses that stay open late for the event.
