Description:

Squallis Puppeteers is a group of local artists and performers who use homemade puppets (some as tall as nine feet) to tell creative and educational stories. The non-profit group, whose name is taken from the Latin word for shark, offer shows on a number of topics, from healthy food and Abraham Lincoln to lessons on emotions presented by dinosaur puppets. Different stories are geared at different age groups. The group performs at various locations, runs camps and can be hired to do a show or mingle at a public event (they do not perform at birthday parties or private events). On the first Saturday of each month, they open their workshop to the public for a family-friendly show and a puppet-making workshop. Admission is $5 and it costs $5 for the workshop (per puppet). Doors open at 12:45 PM and everything finishes around 3:00.

A schedule of shows and story details is available on their website.
