• This unpretentious resort opened in 1993 in the heart of Port Lucaya. Many guests are drawn to its nautical atmosphere and good location. Although set inland on a waterway (Lucayan Harbour), it's an easy walk to Lucayan and Taíno beaches. The compound consists of two-story structures set around a horseshoe-shaped courtyard, very close to a marina and steps from restaurants, bars, and shops. After checking in, guests reach their room either on foot or (if they're transporting luggage) via golf cart. The guest-room wings separate the piers -- home to some very expensive marine hardware -- from a central green space with a gazebo-style bar and pool. The medium-size rooms have tile floors and comfortable rattan furnishings; they open onto the marina, the Olympic-size pool, or the well-landscaped garden. If you don't want to hear the lively marketplace, request unit nos. 1 through 6, which are further from the noise. Bathrooms are tidy but not overly large.
