Description:

  • This restaurant is the only one offering Japanese food in Luxor and is a good choice when you're looking for something a little bit different. The quality of the food may not be what you would expect in New York, but they make a good attempt. If you're not in the mood for a slice of raw squid or a California roll, try the salmon filet from the teppanyaki menu. It comes with crispy, fresh vegetables and a side of slightly garlicky rice that sets off the sauce. The ambience is pleasant, if a little too "hotel," with windows that look onto a carefully tended garden. They even have a teppanyaki table where the chef will cook the food in front of you and put on an ostentatious display of knife- and pepper-grinder-flipping. There is a short but excellent list of desserts; I recommend the Sweet Tower, a simple fruit salad glued together with whipped cream and built into a little pyramid.
