Day trip from Sharm el sheik to Cairo. We are af family of 5; two adults, 3 children (age 16, 14 and 9) who plan a day trip to cairo by bus Thursday 25. february 2010. We are staing in Maritim penisula hotel. We would like to visit the egyptian museum, the pyramids in giza and the sphinx. We would like to visit one of the great souks too. if there are time we also wants to visit something with papyrus. What can you offer?

Hi, I am sorry you haven't had any answers to your question - I didn't get notified of this one I'm sorry and just found it y chance when browsing. Maybe by now you are all sorted out. It's a long trip by road for one single day - you'd be better to stay overnight in Cairo if you could manage.
However, we can certainly do the ground tour here - Giza pyramids, the Museum, Khan il Khalili, a Papyrus Institute and lunch are all doable in a day although it will be quite a full day :-) You will also have your approx. 5-6 hours each way trip to Sharm You would be accompanied by a guide and travel in your own air-conditioned vehicle in Cairo. We would meet you wherever you needed (bus station or other).
Your 9-year old would be half price.

(Cairo sightseeing one day tour by bus from Sharm el Sheikh)
The price is 60 US Dollar per person.
We run this tour every Monday and Thursday
Tour itinerary:
Pick up from the hotel by A/C Car:
Pick up from your hotel in Sharm el Sheikh between 1.00 and 2.00 AM, drive for around 6 hours by Air conditioned car to Cairo. It will be a big coach and there will be 2 stops on the way to go to toilet and to get breakfast in a cafeteria.
Visit of the National Egyptian museum:
You day will start with the visiting of The National Egyptian museum where more than 120 000 pieces are exhibited, for around 2 hours you will explore the museum and discover all the collection of the museum: Old kingdom, Middle kingdom, New kingdom and king Tut Ankh Amen collection.
Lunch:
Have lunch in a local restaurant with a Pyramids view or Nile view.
Visit of Pyramids and Sphinx:
After lunch move to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, The great pyramid of Cheops! And other pyramids of the area - the pyramid of Chephren and the pyramid of Mycerinus. We will end our tour in Pyramids area after visiting Sphinx and its temple.
Shopping in Cairo:
At the end of the day we will have a great opportunity for shopping in markets of Cairo.
Drive back to Sharm el Sheikh:
Drive back to Sharm el Sheikh and drop off to your hotel around 00.30 am (estimated time).
