Description:

  • On of Machu Picchu pueblo's newer and more contemporary hotels, El MaPi juxtaposes the modern industrial world with the beauty and simplicity of nature. This very theme of modernity versus nature is repeated often throughout the hotel's décor (the reception room features an impressively oversized steel counter set before a panoramic shot of the woods), and is in a way a whimsical reminder of the evolution of Machu Pichu Pueblo from jungle to bustling tourist hub. Their stylish bar and restaurant feature whimsical touches like a hidden doorway to the bathroom and menus presented as newspapers complete with articles and sudokus. A higher end hotel within the town of Machu Picchu, forty eight simplistic rooms include breakfast and dinner, a complimentary pisco sour upon arrival, wireless Internet, cable TV and guided tour services of Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu and of the Mandor waterfalls. Located a block from the main Plaza de Armas, though there isn't much outdoor space, there are a few patios and some pools to soak in during the daytime.
