• A popular refuge for the hungry intelligentsia during the turbulent political atmosphere of the 1980s, it continues to attract the same sort of people who came here then. It's a welcoming sort of place with a bit of a decadent feel to it. As for the food, it's imaginatively prepared and presented, and the menu features dishes like courgette and prawn pie and tuna steaks cooked with leeks and sparkling wine along with grilled meats and fish. The wine list offers a reduced selection of fine wines. There's a private dining room available and a sampler menu.
