Church of Jesus of Medinaceli (The)

• The Church of Jesus of Medinaceli or 'La iglesia de Jesús de Medinaceli' was built on the Convent of Our Lady of Barefoot Trinitarians of the Incarnation and was consecrated in the year 1930 by Bishop D.Leopoldo Eijo Garay of Madrid. The church has an established school giving training to a choir called 'Escolania of Jesus de Medinaceli'. The interiors of the church are very elaborate and the atmosphere is one of sheer peacefulness and tranquility. The church hosts a veneration every Friday where thousands flock to pay visit, for confession and mass as they recall the passion and death of Christ. The Church is famous for the procession that takes place on Good Fridays throughout Madrid, as nearly half a million join in.
