Flying from Rome w/ 2 1/2 hr layover. Is it possible to leave airport to see something of Madrid or at least have lunch outside airport?

Hi! you can go to madrid with metro (from all the terminals) or by train-cercanias (only from terminal 4). I wouldn't sugest going to the center center, coz it's too far, it's like 50m ride with metro... but you can go to the stop called Nuevos Ministerios, it's about 25 min, and it's a cool place to see. Or with the train, same station, 18min. if you leave from T4. I sugest you to ask for a place called Cerveceria 100 montaditos, (the adress is Calle de Orense, 11) , it's a bar de tapas, where you can eat cheap and try a lot of spanish tipical small sandwiches... Any ways, you go to the information desk in the airport, they will give you map and instructions. enjoy your stay!!
