There are many different things you can do, a tapas and wine tour, a cooking class, or a wine tour. We organize these type of activities and of course you can do them on your own.

Madrid city centre is pretty compact and most can be seen in a few days of walking. Budget walking tours from the city info centre in Plaza Mayor (building with the paintings) for about 4€ (walking). Bike tours try bravobike.com , segway tours try madsegs.com (different). Things to see depends on what you like but places...plaza mayor, sol, palace, cathedral and opera area can all be walked in a morning. The palace has a great armoury (best i have seen). The madridvision.com bus tours will cover more ground giving you a feel for the city quite quickly.
Golf, zoo/aquarium/dolfinarium, hotair balloons, museums.......there are too many to mention unless you are more specific.
Hope this helps.

hey, you can also visit some places around Madrid ,which are very interesting and not too far , for example El Escorial and Los Caidos Valley. And if you have more free time don't forget to visit Toledo:it is a great city with a great history.

You definitely have to see the Royal Palace, I still visit it each time I go there (especially the majectic Lions Throne Room). Also, the parc of Retiro is beautiful, or the Egyptian Temple of Debod, the Prado museum, or all the beautiful fountains.
The pictoresque town of Toledo is a must see as well, that is only 1 hour by train. It is like a journey back in time, the atmosphere is unique there.

And i forgot to add flamenco or a tour of the real madrid soccer stadium if you like that.
