if i am staying in Madrid, do I need a rental car? I would like to walk, take buses, and rail...what is the good hotel?

We've stayed in Madrid a number of times and not needed a car, you simply hop on and off the underground to access different areas and it's €1 a journey so cheap too. Unless you're planning to travel outside the city, I would't recommend hiring a car I think you'll miss out. We often walk one way and tube it back so we see the sights.
