We want to travel to Madrid from Lourdes.Would prefer an overnight train. Which train should we book?

You can book the train in Lourdes station. You'll need to change in Hendaye. Times and prices from www.sncf.com and/or wwww.renfe.com. A good hostal, nice location right downtown and round the corner from chocolatería San Ginés for chocolate and churros and a stones throw from Plaza Mayor. http://www.hostal-aresol.com. The owner is Carlos. A word of warning about safety in Madrid: Be careful in the train station, on the metro and generally in the centre. Madrid is a great city, but it is not Lourdes.
