Description:
- There are many original establishments in Málaga, but this one is particularly special: the owners are real rocieras (name given to people that take part in the Rocío, an important procession that takes place in the province of Huelva) and you can hear the Salve a la Virgen de Almonte every night here. During the minutes that the Salve lasts, they serve no drinks or tapas, which is quite peculiar. Draught beer and cider, excellent dry sherries and amontillados (white fortified wine), manzanillas from Sanlúcar de Barrameda (another kind of dry sherry) and first-class Valdepeñas wines. At Taberna La Garrocha, you can also enjoy tapas including pisto (fried mixed vegetables in tomato sauce), homemade croquettes, Spanish cured ham and different kinds of good cheese. The atmosphere is pleasant and the place is frequented by well-to-do people.
