• There are a great many ventas (roadside restaurants) on this road through the hills and mountains surrounding Málaga. Each of them serves its own specialties, and this one specializes in migas con tropezones (bread crumbs fried in garlic with small pieces of meat) with eggs and fried peppers. However, if you think this meal would be too heavy for you, you can try their garlic chicken served with vegetables and potatoes, which is also excellent. If you are still undecided, we recommend the traditional plato de los Montes, which includes pork, chorizo (highly-seasoned pork sausage), a fried egg, peppers and fries, though it's especially suited for hearty appetites. Something quite common here is for a group of friends to share and swap items from each others' dishes, which is a good way as well to try a bit of everything. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal.
