- The Village Lodge is located right at one of the base of Mammoth Mountain. The gondola, which takes you to the main lodge, is within walking distance of the resort. Then at night when you've come back down from the slopes, you can hit up the array of restaurants or bars right there in the Village. This is an absolutely perfect location to stay, and especially so if you're traveling in a large group. A heated pool, 5 hot tubs in the hotel, and a gas fireplace in your hotel room will make sure that you keep warm all winter long.
