As Philippine culture is a layered mix of Spanish, American, Filipino and Chinese influences, visiting this Museum of the Chinese in Philippine Life is recommended in order to get a deeper understanding of what you see around you. Located in the Intramuros (Old Walled City) section of Manila, the museum documents the history, lives and contributions of the Chinese on Philippine history, and is divided into very organized and clearly presented sections. Among these, visitors can learn about the emergence of the Chinese community, life in the 1880's, national leaders of Chinese descent, the Tsinoys (Chinese-Filipino) in nation building, and also view a collection of rare prints, photographs and ceramics.
