Around 45-60min from Makati is Sta. Rosa Laguna, there is a community there named Nuvali, a place where Trail Races are held. Here are some photos - http://www.thrillofthetrail.ph/nuvali-trail-running and Map from Google - http://maps.google.com/maps/place?cid=17991161973728301635&q=nuvali+sta+rosa+laguna+philippines&hl=en&cd=3&ei=smvqTIiCI5-AuwPYsK0L&dtab=0&sll=14.24217,121.057361&sspn=0.013804,0.006295&ie=UTF8&ll=14.253195,121.036334&spn=0,0&z=15

Hi Paul Allen,
Thank you for asking us about your quest of a running destination close to Makati - the most beautiful that you can find within 3 hours travel time. I would like you to look at this site: http://jazzrunner.wordpress.com/2009/01/13/mountain-trail-running/ - I have taken a look at it and although I myself would no longer be able to do running at my age, I would love to recommend the place to you. It is a Mountain Trail Run at Sitio Parawagan, Rodriguez, Rizal. Here is to a healthy and safe run at Montalban. Cheers!

for a start, on weekends running around the park Salcedo near Makati Sports Club is good enough..you saved gasoline, streets not busy, paths clean plus you know you are safe. But the best is to have a scenery closer to the beach at Manila baywalk or SM MOA, Zambales trail and Tagaytay

Try to go to Rockwell which is within Makati as they have an area for joggers/runners there. You can also try entering Manila Polo Club within Forbes Park where they have an exclusive village safe for runners as well.

Hi Paul!

You can try out Timberland Heights in San Mateo, Rizal. Here's their link to know more about them http://www.timberlandheights.com/. And also Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City is one of the best places I can recommend that is just within the heart of the city.

I hope I was able to answer your question. thanks a lot.

You may try the following options: Mount Makiling in Laguna, Tagaytay City where you can trail run around the picturesque view of the Philippines smallest volcano called Taal, a volcano within a lake within a volcano within a late and perhaps to the volcano island itself. What an Adventure! The above places are south of Manila, if you want north visit the Pamualakan inside Subic Bay where you can find the Aetas, the indigenous people who live in the scattered isolated mountains of the mountains in Zambales and Bataan, learn their culture and lifestyle and trail run around Subic Bay.

bonifacio global city would be the best and safest to take for a running trail...i guess you can just make it 5 rounds of running or walking to make up your 3-hour time limit...you may also want to consider University of the Philippines campus where you get to enjoy fresh air...lots of runners go there early in the morning or late afternoon...

I recomend you Rizal Park is an urban park situated in the heart of the city of Manila, Philippines. It is at the northern end of Roxas Boulevard, overlooking Manila Bay. Rizal Park is like an oasis for relaxation and fun in the midst of Manila and situated next to Intramuros. Rizal Park has gardens, historical markers, plazas, a grand stadium, an observatory, an open-air concert hall, an artists' sanctuary, a light-and-sound theatre, restaurants, food kiosks and playgrounds, and dozens of fountains. I also sent you some pictures. The best time in going there will be early morning. The park is one of the largest in South East Asia, and is a green lung much used by the residents of Manila for recreation and entertainment. The park features numerous ornamental gardens, a chess plaza and a skating rink. In a pond on the east side of the park the Philippines archipelago has been recreated in miniature. There are also some museums and public buildings within the park, and after sunset a sound and light exhibit featuring the martyrdom of Dr Jose Rizal is to be seen. On Sundays there is a free concert in an open-air auditorium.

Running the Bonifacio Global City is the best, it's just a stone's throw away from Makati City and there are a lot of spaces ideal for jogging, running or just walking like the empty parking lots, streets, etc. especially beginning at 3:00 o'clock AM to 5:00 AM when all place seems at rest.

If you like to go an enjoyable and healthful trail running i recommend you the Rizal Park, aside from the environment is good for running there's a lot a trees that give you a fresh air, and also a sea that give you a strong healthy lungs.
In a morning there's alot of activities to the joggers like open air aerobic and physical fitness with music and trainors to lead by.
If feel tired and you need to relax there's a scenery view that you feel to see and feeling great, there's a recreational activities, and a restaurant to dine in and its enjoyable and healthful to you really.
Since your in a Makati, i think 3 hours not consumed in your travel time.
