I will be in Makati for 3-4 days for business then will stay in the Philippines for 10-14 days.
Any suggestions of a good hotel 4-5 star close to something to do at night?

A good hotel would be the Shangri-La Makati. It's in the center of everything. It's smack in the middle of malls, restaurants and bars. No need for transportation, you can walk to the nearest mall. Here is a link to the hotel's website: http://www.shangri-la.com/en/property/manila/makatishangrila
Hope this helps!

Hi Joe,
Makati is the main Central Business District of Metro Manila and there are many good hotels there. However since you would like to have something to do at night I suppose you would like to stay where the action is. I suggest you log on to >> http://www.marriott.com/courtyard/travel.mi and find your hotel of choice.
One hotel which I find very interesting is Dusit Hotel Nikko just at the corner of EDSA and Pasay Road and is nearest (in Makati) to the international airport. It has a bar at the second floor so if you would like to check it out, you don't need to go far.
If you would want to check out other places, just take a walk along Pasay Road from your hotel and there many interesting places there.
Then let me give you a write-up on the night spots of Makati from a visitor - please log on to >> http://www.sexwork.com/philippines/makati.html and find useful tips there about Makati’s night life.
Stay safe and enjoy!

Hello, Joe! After your business meeting in Makati, where would you like to spend the next two weeks? Would you like to explore the Philippines? Or just stay in Manila?
A good hotel in Makati is the Manila Penninsula. There are a lot of nice bars, cafes and clubs hidden away in Makati. You can ask info from the front desk.

Hi Joe! There are plenty of nice and fancy hotels in Makati. So I decided to send you this link where you can check out variety of Hotels that suits your taste and your budget. http://www.hotels.org.ph/makati_hotels/makati_hotels.html. But if your going to ask me.Makati International Inns Inc. is a very good sample of a budget Hotel. A comfortable place with reasonable prices even if it's in the prime location of makati. Close to shopping areas like Greenbelt which is surrounded by multiple quality bars to spend your nights out. And for the best Bars and restaurant, check this site;http://www.hotels.org.ph/makati_hotels/makati_hotels.html. Hope you have an awesome visit here in Makati.cio!;)

I would suggest Oakwood cos you just go down and you're in the Glorietta mall itself where you can find a lot of things to do or New World Rennaisance Hotel where you can simply walk across to the Greenbelt mall same with the Hotel Intercontinental and Dusit hotels which surround the Glorietta Ayala commercial center.

Hi Joe...You could try the Renaissance Hotel, it's in Greenbelt Makati, just a walking distance to all the nice restaurants, malls, and bars....

Hi Joe, I actually have a studio for rent in makati greenbelt area. Its supposed to be for long term lease but since it is still unoccupied I sometimes accept selected foreign transients.
However I noticed you specifically wanted 4-5 star hotels. Shangrila Makati and Mandarin Oriental are the best business 5 star hotels in makati followed by Peninsula and Intercon. Shangrila and Intercon would be walking distance to the malls.
Will you just stay in metro manila or try going to countryside?

Aside from the Shangri-La Makati hotel, the Renaissance Hotel is also a good choice. Once you walk out of the lobby, you're just right across Greenbelt 5 where there a lot of restaurants and bars where expats and professional urbanites hang out at night. No need for cabs just walk it. Log on to www.renaissancehotels.com for browsing and reservations.

Hey Joe,
Shangri-la Makati, Manila Peninsula Hotel, Mandarin Hotel, Renaissance Hotel, Dusit-Thani Hotel, and Manila Intercontinental Hotel are the best hotels at the heart of the Philippines' prime business center - Makati. These hotels boast of elegance, unparalleled service, amenities of all sorts, and not to mention accessibility to class A malls, restaurants, bars, offices and a lot more. You can easily navigate around Makati by walking. It's much exciting doing this. But avoid walking or exploring the streets during the day because it's kinda hot this time of year and very humid, unless you're ok with it. Try exploring and walking in the afternoon after 3pm because the sun is going down already during this time.
Check the hotels' website. Just add philippines to the name of each hotel to direct you to the right site.
Enjoy your stay in the Philippines.

It's near Makati's premiere Malls like Glorietta and Greenbelt .... plus Greenbelt area have a fun nightlife!
Enjoy your stay in Makati ! ;-)

Malls? They're virtually the SAME everywhere in the world. If you want the local experience, stay in a condo, MY condo for short term rental. 5 great museums within walking distance from the condo. A mall that is quite unlike your run of the mill mall. It's a block from the zoo and across the street from the Cultural Center of the PHilippines and an amusement park (STAR CITY). Malate street life is a short walk away where nightlife includes ballroom, live bands, you name it. The Mall of Asia is $2 in cab fare and Makati is $2.50. And the best part? The price is probably a third of what a hotel will charge you for 14 days, and this is 2 bedrooms, with a full kitchen and 24 hour security. Contact me if interested at ipatluna@pusod.org

Hi Joe, you can chose between, Shangri-la, Intercontinental Hotel, Dusit, or Manila Peninsula, they're at the heart of Makati business district and just a stone throne away to some cozy night spots in the Manila. I suggest you should visit, Bonifacio High Street if you want some night out, it's just around 2 kilometers away from those hotels.
Answered by Shiela , Malate, Philippines
Try to book at Shangri-La Hotel Makati located at Ayala Ave. cor. Makati Ave. or try in Makati Peninsula just on the other side of the road. If you want a cheaper hotel, try City Garden Hotel. Since you will be extending your stay, why not try to visit some of the beautiful tourist spot in the Philippines like Palawan, Bohol or Boracay.
Please visit my website for a listing of hotels in Makati.
