The cottages are charmingly decorated, comfortably furnished and ideally situated. The strip of white sand beach just outside is only frequented by local children during the day. At night, a few blissed-out diners might stroll by after gorging on seafood delights at the Fish House. Paia Town is a few moments away by car, as is Kahului.

This is NOT paradise. It is not even acceptable. We checked into a "cottage" (Manini) which was a one bedroom unit in a duplex located in an alley behind Mama's restaurant....
