Makawao Steak House - Maui
  • Cuisines: American, Steakhouses
  • NileGuide Expert Says:

This old cowboy-style place also is known for its "high tea"!

  • Description:

    • This popular upcountry hangout serves steaks grilled over local kiawe wood. Entrees come with fresh baked bread, soup or salad, and potatoes or rice. Vegetarians can satisfy themselves at the decent salad bar. Built in 1927, the cavernous, wood-paneled eatery contains three fireplaces and a cozy lounge. It's a good venue to mix with the locals, who prefer the mellow setting to the frenzied, touristy atmosphere of Lahaina.
