D. K. Kodama (chef and owner of Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar) and Chuck Furuya (Hawaii's only master sommelier) teamed up to create this culinary adventure, which opened in 2003 to big, big accolades. Probably the best Italian food on Maui is served at this exquisite restaurant, overlooking the rolling hills of the Kapalua Golf Club. The menu features more than two dozen tapas (small plates), ranging from the signature asparagus Milanese (just $7) to slow butter-poached Kona lobster ($20). The most popular large-plate dishes include fresh mahimahi with artichokes and grape tomatoes on capellini, crusted pan-fried veal stuffed with prosciutto, and osso buco with spinach risotto. Go to Vino's early during your stay on Maui; you most likely will want to return.
