  • NileGuide Expert Says:

Paradise for you beach walkers: 3 miles of white sand, best early morning or sunset.

  • Description:

    • This long, curving, sandy beach lies on the southern isthmus of Maui and extends three miles from Ma'alaea to Kihei. Due to the location of the beach between the mountains of East and West Maui, a strong afternoon wind frequently blows southward over the beach. This provides some of the best, and most constant, windsurfing conditions on the island. Various conditions exist along this stretch of beach. At the northern end you'll find excellent surfing conditions with large tunnel-like waves during the summer months. Also close to Ma'alaea is a jetty that creates two shallow pools, with calm waters, excellent for kids. This jetty also provides an interesting area to explore for snorkelers. The water is clearest in this area of the island during the summer months.
