• Type: Beaches
  • NileGuide Expert Says:

There's still a tiny strip of beach left between the McMansions.

  • Description:

    • Palauea Beach lies immediately south of Polo Beach. On Makena Road you'll notice cars parked along the road and an easily distinguished trail leading to the beach. A strip of private land lies between the beach and the road, which beach users must cross.

This beach has similar conditions to Polo Beach. The beach area slopes gently then drops off quickly. These beach conditions can cause dangerous shore breaks and strong wave back lash. The wind creates high surf during the afternoons, which makes good conditions for body surfing and boogie boarding. Swimming and snorkeling are best in the morning. The beach consists of white sand and usually isn't crowded. There are no facilities at this site.
