  • NileGuide Expert Says:

The slaughterhouse is no more and Mokole`ia beach offers good snorkeling and unparalleled Molokai views.

  • Description:

    • Slaughterhouse Beach lies on Maui's northwestern shoreline within the Mokule'ia-Honolua Marine Life Conservation District. Visitors to this reserve are asked not to remove anything (except what they brought with them) from the beach. Slaughterhouse Beach is known for excellent body surfing. Expert swimmers are challenged by the high surf that hits this area during the winter months. Swimming and snorkeling are best during the summer when the water conditions are calmer. The beach is wide and sandy with gentle descent into the water. Two rocky points mark the ends of Mokule'ia Bay and provide snorkelers with ample opportunities for viewing fish and coral. There are no facilities at this beach and parking is along Highway 30. A rocky and steep trail provides access to the beach.
