Description:
The landmark La Siesta occupies a well-maintained building surrounded by the old mansions of Mazatlán. Inside, three levels encircle a central courtyard; guest rooms facing the ocean have balconies opening to sea breezes and pounding waves. Those at the back of the hotel are quieter but less charming; all have two beds, a table and chair, and small bathroom. El Shrimp Bucket, once the town's most popular restaurant until the Zona Dorada stole this area's thunder, sits just off the courtyard. A small pool has been added, along with wireless Internet service. Most of the staff seem like they're as historic as the hotel.
