Description:
- Unlike the Regent Theater opposite, the Athenaeum deals pretty exclusively in live Theater. However, its productions range from Bell's Shakespeare Company to Winnie-the-Pooh to one-man shows. There is a small Theater upstairs and the main Theater downstairs seats slightly fewer than 1000 at full capacity. The National Trust classified building is decoratively rather more restrained than some of the old city centre Theaters. Refreshments are available.
