Bangla Curry and Sweets Cafe

• While many of Melbourne's cafés were founded by European immigrants and are Mediterranean inspired, this establishment has its sights set firmly on the subcontinent. The decor might be nothing special--although the mosaic floor is a nice touch--but this café concentrates more on its hearty, authentic, inexpensive food. The menu is quite diverse, specializing in sweets and curries as the name suggests. There are a variety of samosas, curries ranging from vegetarian for the conscientious to goat meat for the adventurous, and several tandoori chicken dishes and breads. The lassis--traditional yoghurt and mango thick shakes are especially recommended!
