Inner Northern: Melbourne

Melbourne's Inner northern suburbs are seen by locals as the cultural center of the city, whether it be food, music or the arts. Carlton is known as the home of Melbourne's best Italian restaurants, while Fitzroy's pubs and bars make it the nightlife favourite of many – especially those in search of the live music the city is famous for.  Two universities in these suburbs give it an active vibe, and the expansive Carlton and Edinburgh gardens give it some greenery.
