• Finding this cafe/bar is all part of the experience, as it located deep with the Abbotsford Convent building, down corridors, climbing stairs, dodging ghosts. The cafe itself is minimal, resembling a kitchen from the late 1940's with a bit of Italian espresso bar thrown in. The clientele mostly come from the convent itself (no not nuns), as it is now a work residence for many artists, though the farmers market run every two weeks, brings in the crowds. The menu itself is a small as the cafe, with ham and cheese sandwiches and soup being the staples, but with very good coffee thrown in. There is a mass produced domestic beer on tap, and occasionally an interesting drop that Steve found on his travels. Steve himself, a former musician and publican, is always ready for a chat.
