- After many years of food service and a swag of excellence awards, the Tandoor remains one of the stayers on Chapel Street—embraced by an often fickle crowd. The tablecloths are white but the ambience of the Tandoor is subdued rather than grand. Amongst the meat and seafood vindaloos and curries is an outstanding vegetarian menu. Dishes such as Indian rice and lentil pancakes stuffed with potato and served with sambar and coconut chutney, and cubes of cottage cheese deep fried and then cooked with onion, tomato, fresh coriander and finished with cream will have carnivores salivating too.
