- Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces was established in 1983 as a non-profit organization to provide gallery space and studio facilities. They give professional support to budding artists, by helping them establish themselves and their work. Gertrude has three galleries, low-cost studios for local artists, and a residential studio for visiting artists. The exhibitions feature the works of new Australian and International artists, who display talent and excellence. Gertrude also organizes cultural exchange programs that will help in further grooming of the country's artists, writers and curators. Educational programs are initiated so that the students, as well as the general public, can have access to understanding contemporary art.
