Description:
- Despite having suspect colors (brown and yellow), Hawthorn were the powerhouse side of the 1970's and 1980's. With a wealth of talented youngsters, and a champion in Lance Franklin, they won a surprise premiership in 2008, but their form has been ordinary since with many injuries. Known as the "family" club, they faced a merger in the 90's with Melbourne, but was saved when club legend Don Scott, pulled the troops together. Their always vocal president and former State Premier, Jeff kennett, is constantly in the headlines.
