Description:
With its extensive cellar and sidewalk terrace, Azafran (the name means saffron in Spanish) offers one of the best dining experiences to be had in downtown Mendoza. The specially acclimatized wine cellar is at the front of house, as if to emphasize the importance attached to good drinking. A typical starter is a picada (or wooden platter) of cured meats and cheeses. The varied mains include delicacies such as rabbit ravioli in champagne sauce while there are always dishes for vegetarians. The rustic decor, relaxed ambience and friendly service are definite pluses at this excellent restaurant.
