• The Hyatt Regency Merida is an elegant American chain hotel that attracts leisure and business travelers to its Yucatan location close to Paseo de Montejo between the Historic Center and the upscale neighborhoods of North Merida in southeastern Mexico. Sleek and contemporary in ambience and décor, the Hyatt's guest rooms feature beds covered in soft cotton Blancos Covadonga linens, satellite cable TV and in-room safes.
  
  The higher priced Regency Club accommodations offer good value because they include free wireless internet, complimentary breakfast, evening cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, nightly bed turndown service, and access to a private lounge. Some guests have balked at the $15 per day internet charge and complained about excess noise in rooms located on the swimming pool side of the hotel when weddings or other large outdoor events are held.
  
  If you wish to dine outside the hotel, try Hennessy's Irish Pub or the deluxe restaurant at Hotel Rosas & Xocolate, Ek Chuah.
