• Description:

    • Since 1952, La Habana has been downtown Mérida's 24-hour coffee shop, a restaurant where you can get consistently good breakfast, lunch, or. La Habana is as crowded with colorful characters in the middle of the night as it is during the day. At breakfast try the chaya omelette, filled with Yucatán's dark green super spinach, whose medicinal properties are touted all over southeastern Mexico. Among the many sandwich choices, the Torta Cubana is a tasty mix of chicken, pork, and cheese served hot on a crusty bread roll. Entrees range from local specialties like enchiladas verdes – corn tortillas filled stuffed with a variety of fillings and bathed in green tomatillo sauce – to creamy Fettucine Alfredo. La Habana roasts its own coffee beans right on-site and sells ground or whole bean coffee by the kilo. Stop by the restaurant after a performance at Teatro Manzanaro for dessert and espresso.
