Description:

Museo Experimental El Oco, the mid-20th century experimental art museum built by Mathias Goeritz and Daniel Mont, stays open regularly in the evening. Among its diverse nightlife activities are events associated with the museums temporary exhibitions or artist residency program, Hotel El Oco.

Operated since 2005 by UNAM – the Autonomous University of Mexico – El Oco has reclaimed the prominent place it held in the contemporary art scene in the 1950s until Goeritz's death in 1990. Students, black-clad young artists and art lovers, and fans of contemporary culture gather at El Oco for such avant-garde events as Ruido Sesiones (Noise Sessions), a project of Salvador Cañas that explores the possibilities of sound with invited laptop performers and DJs.

The nightlife destinations of Zona Rosa is within walking distance.

How to Get There: Metrobus Insurgentes, Reforma station. Metro: Cuauhtemoc
