Description:

  • I had heard of Cluny's but never been there because I live on the opposite side of the city. When I finally made it there during one of my treks to San Angel, I was pleasantly surprised and understood why it was such a popular restaurant and why there was always a waiting list to get in.

The decor is unpretentious, it has reproductions of famous paintings, it's a bit dark and rather than one large room, it is full of small niches with one, two or three tables at the most, which gives it a very romantic feeling.

It is famous for it's crepes but it's salads are wonderful and so are their baguettes and quiches. I found it to be a bit pricey given its lack of decor but the quality of the food justifies the price as well as its central location in the southern part of the city. This is the perfect lunch spot after visiting the Saturday bazaar in San Angel.
