El Arlequin - Mexico City
  • Cuisines: French
  • NileGuide Expert Says:

This is one place that has pleasantly surprised all my friends.

  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Pretty crowded between 2 and 3 pm on workdays.

    Description:

    • When you eat at El Arlequin (The Harlequin or Buffon) you are immediately transported to France. This is a small  restaurant run by it's owner, Dominique who prepares different specialties every day, although his onion soup and blue cheese beef medallions are always delicious and always on the menu. It is located a few blocks from the US embassy and Reforma Avenue, it has about ten or twelve tightly squeezed tables usually filled by locals that work at one of the many office buildings nearby making it feel like one big party.. Their wine selection is quite good and is personally chosen by Dominique who keeps his client's tastes and budgets in mind. The menu is not very large but it is carefully selected and includes salads, soups, fish, beef and chicken dishes in the $10 to $15 range.
