Description:

  • Good Chinese food in a shopping mall in Mexico City – that doesn't sound very likely but, it's true: Mojing Comida China is authentic – down to the chef, clientele, décor and wait staff. Located in the Historic Center, Mojing "Chinese Food" (as the name translates) is a clean, cheery Hong Kong-style restaurant in the Centro Comercial de China. Asian flavors have been enjoyed in Mexico since the 16th century when the Manila clippers first brought oriental spices to New Spain. Some recommended dishes are wheat dumplings – steamed jiao-tze or fried guo tieh, mushrooms in spicy sauce, pork with pressed tofu, and ginger beef. On Saturday evenings, cook your own meal in a tabletop hot pot. Practically everyone who eats at Mojin is Chinese, which explains why the waiters don't even speak Spanish (let alone English). Guests staying at Hilton Reforma or Hotel Fleming will find the Mojin a convenient dining choice.
