- In 1966, the Mexican sculptress Geles Cabrera decided to create a museum of her own work in Coyoacán. The uneven terrain chosen was used to its best advantage to create an appropriate environment to exhibit the sculptures. And so for the first time in Mexico, an architectural form was fused with a sculptural presentation. A small bridge and other linking structures produce an effective ensemble in a space interspersed with sculptures, taking advantage of every angle and recess and creating an unique and enchanting environment. It is a fascinating experience to visit this museum, for you can actually touch the exhibits, feel their volume and integrate with the forms and dimensions all around you. The museum offers a concise history of the artistic evolution of Geles Cabrera, of her dominion of a subject which, according to her, still needs to be explored. Admission is free.
